Islamabad Club Family Hike – Trail 2

Islamabad Club Family Hike – Trail 2 Left Loop & Cactus Ridge: Sunday, 14 December 2025
On a crisp Sunday morning, 34 hikers, gathered at the foothills of Margalla Trail 2 for a family hike. The Wildlife Rangers were already deployed, while the Islamabad Club Sports Team and support staff were present to welcome, coordinate, and guide the participants throughout the activity.
The hike began with warm greetings, a light warm-up session, and a group photograph. Participants of all ages—children, teenagers, adults, and seniors—joined the hike,
making it a truly inclusive family event. As the climb progressed under the winter sun, many hikers shed their jackets and settled into a comfortable pace.
The scenic and open trail offered sweeping views of Islamabad. Hikers took several pauses to enjoy the natural surroundings and capture memories. At a special viewpoint, hikers gathered to chant national songs, adding a moment of pride and shared enthusiasm.
The route exited at Pir Sohawa Road and after a short walk continued towards the Cactus Ridge, a narrow, less-visited path known for its rocky steps and dense shrubbery. The group then proceeded to Daman-e-Koh Trail 2 for descent, completing a loop of approximately 8 kilometers.
A few participants concluded the morning with a shared breakfast after the hike.
We extend our best wishes for a Happy New Year and look forward to the upcoming family hikes on 11 January and 25 January 2026.
