Trail 6 — The Leopard Zone Adventure #21

A Unique and Thrilling Experience | Sunday, 9 November 2025
It was a crisp, sunny morning when over 75 spirited hikers gathered at Trail 6, ready for an adventure unlike any other! This was no ordinary hike — it was a rare chance to explore the Leopard Conservation Zone, an area normally closed to the public. Thanks to the special permission granted by the Wild Life Board, Ministry of Climate Change, our hiking community got to experience the wild heart of the Margalla Hills up close.
The Hike was managed by Ms. Anjum Assad Amin, the Convener of Hiking Committee and Ms.Areej Faisal, Member of the Committee.
Before setting off a short drill was held and Wildlife Rangers from the Islamabad Wildlife Board gave an insightful briefing on safety and leopard habitat preservation. The Rangers then accompanied the group throughout the trek — keeping us safe and sharing fascinating facts about the ecosystem and its hidden inhabitants.
Into the Leopard Zone
What followed was pure magic — clean water streams, dense greenery, chirping birds, and breathtaking views stretching across the hills. Every step revealed the untouched beauty of nature. Young and old, men and women, boys and girls — all moved together in the same spirit of adventure, learning, and camaraderie.
Covering 7 kilometers, the group discovered how precious and alive our natural heritage truly is. Many hikers couldn’t resist capturing the wonder through their cameras — each click a memory of Islamabad’s hidden paradise.
Giving Back to Nature
In a beautiful gesture of appreciation, the hikers collectively donated Rs. 47,000 to the Wildlife Board for the preservation of the Leopard Zone. This contribution symbolizes our shared commitment to protecting wildlife and promoting responsible eco-tourism.
A Perfect Finish
The adventure concluded with a delightful breakfast at Club West, where laughter, stories, and new friendships filled the morning air.
A Morning to Remember
Guided by the dedicated team of the Wildlife Department, this hike was not just a physical journey — it was an emotional one. It reminded us how precious our environment is and how, together, we can protect it. Truly, a morning of nature, friendship, and discovery — a memory to cherish and a promise to return.
