Islamabad Club’s 30th Family Bicycle Ride: A Morning of Adventure and Achievement
On October 4, 2025, the Islamabad Club organised its milestone 30th Family Bicycle Ride, bringing together cycling enthusiasts of all ages for a refreshing start to the day. Kicking off at sunrise, the event drew families and individuals eager to pedal through the scenic routes of the capital, promoting health, community spirit, and outdoor exploration.
Leader of the ride this time was Doc Aly Khokhar, a committee member & an experienced cyclist. Nadeem Riyaz, another avid cyclist volunteered to bring up the rear. As usual Club’s motorcycle rider and security staff on rescue vehicle accompanied the riders.
The 23-kilometer ride began with participants gathering at the starting point, where the crisp morning air set the perfect tone for the journey ahead. Riders embarked on Srinagar Highway, transitioning onto the newly constructed road leading to Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU). From there, the route wound past the serene Imam Bari Darbar, offering glimpses of Islamabad’s natural beauty and cultural landmarks. The group then proceeded to the Margalla Road/Constitution Avenue junction before looping back, completing a challenging yet rewarding circuit that tested endurance while showcasing the city’s evolving infrastructure.
A standout moment of the ride was the remarkable performance of the youngest participant—Pareesa, a spirited 12-year-old girl who rode side by side with the group throughout the entire distance. Her determination and enthusiasm inspired fellow cyclists, embodying the inclusive and family-friendly ethos of the event. “It’s moments like these that remind us why we organize these rides,” shared one rider. “Seeing young riders push their limits fosters a love for cycling that lasts a lifetime.”
The Islamabad Club Cycling Committee extends its gratitude to all participants, volunteers, who made the 30th edition a resounding success. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, mark your calendars for future rides; 31st ride will IA be on 19th October..
