Independence Day Family Squash Celebration at Islamabad Club

Independence Day Family Squash Celebration at Islamabad Club

Today, the Squash Sub-Committee proudly hosted a memorable Independence Day Family Squash Celebration at the club’s squash courts — and what an incredible turnout it was! Players, families, senior members, and our ex-convener came together in true patriotic spirit, braving traffic and road closures to make this day special.
The courts were beautifully decorated with Pakistani flags and bunting, while national songs filled the air, creating an electric atmosphere. Friendly matches in multiple categories kept the audience entertained, and the celebration began with the National Anthem, setting the tone for unity and pride.
In his opening remarks, Co-Convenor Raja Rehan Arshad thanked all participants for their enthusiasm and love for the country. Special appreciation was given to Squash Sub-Committee members Convener Imran Jamshed, Adeel Asghar, Amir Rahim, Taimur Shafiq, and Shahbaz Ahmed for their dedication and efforts in making the event a success. Members also shared heartfelt words about the club’s world-class squash facilities and the tireless contributions of Coach Zubair Khan, Assistant Coach Tauqir, Sanwal, and Nadeem in keeping squash alive and thriving at the club.
A highlight of the evening was the cutting of the Pakistan Day cake by a young boy and girl, followed by spirited chants of “Pakistan Zindabad!” Flags and flag brooches were distributed to all, and the event concluded with a warm hi-tea in honour of our distinguished guests, players, and their families.
This was more than just a sports gathering — it was a celebration of unity, sportsmanship, and love for Pakistan within the heart of our club.
Pakistan Zindabad!
