21st Family Bicycle Ride

21st Family Bicycle Ride
Islamabad Club Cycling 21st Family Bicycle Ride (ICC 21).
Saturday the 24th of May dawned overcast, and keen riders congregated at the Islamabad Club Cycling Hub, for the Family Bicycle Ride. Rental bicycles were available for those in need. 15 riders were present, including 3 ladies. After a brief safety and route announcement the riders set off at 5:30 a.m. The weather was pleasant and clouds kept the sun at bay most of the way.
With an accompanying Outrider and the Club Support Vehicle bringing up the rear (with water, tools, pump and an emergency kit) they headed out through the Rose and Jasmine Garden towards Chand Tara monument from where they rode through Shakarparian.
The riders had great fun riding up the Shakarparian Hill where they took a break and snapped pictures while enjoying the serene surroundings. Then over the H-8 / I-8 flyover towards Zero Point and Faisal Masjid. Then down 7th Avenue and onto Aabpara Market Road, Serena Chowk, Kashmir Chowk and back at the Club. Total distance was 26km.
The next rides will be organised on 15th & 29th June.
