17th Family Bicycle ride
Cycling Committee of Islamabad Club organised 17th Family Bicycle ride on March 7, 2025. In view of holy month of Ramazan, the timing of the fortnightly family ride was changed to 9:30 pm.
This was first ever night ride by the Club members and what an amazing experience it was! Rider aged 17 to 70, with a substantial participation by lady members/ family members, thoroughly enjoyed the maiden night ride.
This time, instead of usual briefing on do’s and don’ts, a committee member Doc. Aly Khokhar recited his poem “Mahfouz Savari”, a rendition of all precautions in a poem. The group started from Cycling Hub, Club West side and followed the route to Constitution Avenue and entered the Diplomatic Enclave. The members enjoyed a rather comfortable ride and made a loop of the Diplomatic Enclave, stopping at pre-assigned points to allow the slow riders to catchup and take photographs. The group returned to the Club by 10:45 pm and dispersed. Some members stayed back to enjoy hot drinks at the Cricket Pavilion.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience. The Club staff provided full support and members owe special thanks to Islamabad Police that not only provided pilots but also full security that made ride very smooth and secure.
