Tribute to Parveen Shakir

Library & Literary Committee of Islamabad Club is paying tributes to an iconic and acclaimed poetess, Parveen Shakir who left indelible imprints on the poetic landscape of Pakistan. Her works and books are still the most sought after in every nook and corner of the country. The event will entail thought sharing on life and works of Parveen Shakir by some renowned writers and her contemporaries, re-playing one of her interviews, a video message of her son Murad (Geetu), rendition of some of her ghazals by a singer and a small exhibition of her books. Please join us on Friday 8th December, 2023 at 4.30 pm at Club Auditorium to honor her contributions. Free entry for members & their guests. However, punctuality will be appreciated as event will start on time.
