This Time to Daman e Koh; Club Cyclists are reaching new heights

This Time to Daman e Koh

Encouraged from the experience of ride to Shahdara on May 15, the Cycling Committee decided on Daman e Koh Viewpoint for the ride on 29th June albeit with an alternate less demanding route for those who chose so.

The Family Bicycle Ride of June 29 was a surreal experience. Pleasant weather at 5:30 am with a cloud cover had all the promise of an enjoyable ride. Exiting the Club on scenic Garden Avenue, the group stopped at Chand Tara Chowk for, now customary, picture and proceeded on 7th Avenue to the Zoo roundabout. At that point the Cyclists split into two groups, one headed to Damen e Koh Viewpoint and the other turned on Margalla Road onward to Constitution Avenue and then back to Club.

Committee member Doc Aly Khokhar led the group going to Daman e Koh Viewpoint while Haroon General kept on taking pictures, that would be fond memories; both being experienced cyclists gave helpful tips to negotiate the climbs. The tips, particularly regarding gear-shifting were extremely useful and the first timers reached the viewpoint comfortably. The group had a brief break at the viewpoint for pictures and descended to get back to the club where the other group accompanied by committee members Sehrish Masood and Shahab A Durrani had already arrived. Besides, photographs at some set points, a combined breakfast is another tradition and the group enjoyed it at the Cricket Pavilion.

Fortnightly rides in the month of July would be organized on weekends of 12th and 27th July.
