Hiking Trail 3b and 3- Sunday, 20 October 2024

Almost 40 Islamabad Club hikers gathered earlier than 7 am on Sunday 20 October , 2024 at trail 3 parking area.

Prior to the commencement of the hike, a stretching drill for the group was led by the vibrant Ms. Areej Faisal, the Islamabad Club Hiking Committee Member. The hike route was smooth and easy/medium climb through Trail 3b, overlooking the Said Pur Village and offering a panoramic view of the capital Islamabad.

The group moved up chatting and breathing the fresh and clean air and enjoying the scenic views of the surroundings. As the hikers moved closer to the Umbrella point, chirping of the birds was laudable and flora and fauna abundant. This was very first hike by Islamabad Club Hiking Group to trail 3 and many of those who have been to this trail; explored the 3b route for the very first time.

It has become a tradition of our hikers to sing patriotic song upon reaching the destined point at the trail. Upon reaching the Umbrella point all other hikers; children, women and men joined the energetic Islamabad Club hikers in singing ” Dil Dil Pakistan”. After taking a short break for photos and chit chat, the group descended through rather steep trail 3. Improved weather was comforting to the hikers.

Encouraging Family Participation

To encourage family participation, our hikes are always held on Sundays. The Hiking Committee welcomes children, youth, women and mature age family members to join the group hikes.

Safety Measures

Hiking with big groups is always safer than hiking alone. The Sports Management of the Club has arranged bibs/outerwear to identify the hikers for their security. Islamabad Club staff accompanies the hikers throughout the hike. Some staff waits down the hill and stays on to ensure all the hikers have safely returned from the hike. The staff keeps a first aid kit handy for prompt response to any health issues of the hikers.

Future Hiking Plans

Our next hiking trip is being planned in November 2024, Trail 7, D12/Shah Allah Ditta.
